A Ixus Telecoms VoIP telephone can be operated at any Internet connection with at least 100 Kbit/s up and downstream. All broadband Internet ports (e.g. ADSL) are more than sufficient for this. A computer is not actually needed (as long as you are not opting for a software phone): Since the Internet telephone runs over a separate device, your PC can be switched off. You are still reachable and can call - as you do with a normal telephone.
